The first part of the Jaques Lake trail takes you to Summit Lakes, relatively little elevation gain or loss and a mostly wide open track makes for pretty easy riding though there are several areas that are quite eroded and more technical. Several nice views of the valley make this a pleasant outing. Many groups ride to Summit Lakes and continue on foot to the terminus of the trail at Jaques Lake

I rode this trail on september 15th, 2017, and the first couple hundred meters there is a river carved straight down the trail. Parks Canada looks to have cleared a new trail on one side which was totally usable but we had to ride through the river to get to it. River was about .75 feet deep and you subj into the rocks a bit so you may get your feet wet if you need to put a foot down while crossing. We made it through okay. The rest of the trail is excellent. Wide and hard parked with some small features but you need to cross several scree slopes that could be wuite technical at times. We loved riding them but saw some other bikers walking over them. Really really fun and fast coming back down!

Not much has changed from Septembers report. There still is a good amunt of water in the first 200-300 meters of water of the trail. Great ride though and beautiful scenery.
