A popular route to access the trails of the Pyramid Bench commonly refered to as "The Church Climb", it is the easiest way onto the bench from town unless you take Pyramid Lake road to access trail 15. A fairly sustained climb right from the parking lot gets you warmed up. The track is by and large wide and open with a few very short, slightly technical rocky sections. The trail joins trail 15 eventually taking you to Pyramid lake this first section of Trail 2 ends at Cottonwood slough.
