A fun rip down all the way from the top of Mt CDA, which can be linked to 257 south as a climb out or just using the access road. Gets steeper in spots but nothing bad for most of the way down. After you cross the access road the final time, the final bit of the trail drops off the road for a short section that is the steepest and loosest of the entire trail. You could always turn off at the road to avoid this little bit, as many do. Skinny singletrack at it's best

Access Info

From the top, begin descending upper Caribou Ridge for about 1/4th of a mile, until there is a trail branching to your left. There will also be a big sign pointing out how far it is to intersectons along Caribou Ridge Trail, go left. From the bottom, trail 257 south pretty much directs you right into this trail. If you just came doen 257 south, you will reach a T in the trail, where going straight goes right up a steep, loose section of hike-a-bike, or going left will cross the creek and make for a mellower climb out. It will soon turn into a road and you will cross 227 again, able to reconnect.

Not a great trail for going up. Ended up doing a lot of hike-a-bike.

Agree with the other comment, not a great climbing trail. Did a lot of hiking. 257 is more rideable, but it was a few years ago that I last rode that up. It looks like the road would be a better way to climb out.

Three sections over 20% that I had to push my fat bike up, riding a all mountain bike with lower gears could swing it with a lot of grunting. besides those hike a bike sections, its worth the effort,
