Definitely a favourite and like all good things, best left til last. Train Spotting is a good way to end your ride and link with the various firetrails back to your car (whether parked across the bridge or on Copley Rd).
Train Spotting was built in reverse and features long open sections to really build speed. But be wary because all that speed will need to be washed off in a hurry when you hit tight off camber corners, short steep chutes and loose, narrow trail sections.
A few jumps are hidden in the grass when you cross the paddock (sometimes obscured when the grass is long in winter). Keep your eyes peeled cos you'll be disappointed if you miss them!
There is one unavoidable drop of approximately 1.2m which skilled riders will have no problem hitting on their first run as the visibility is good.
Ride to the highest point of Mt Mambup then cross the grass to the slab of rock that marks the common trail head for Rapids Ahoy, Savage Bliss, Train Spotting and Whop-a-Chang. An old fence has been flattened by animals here.
