The Tramway trail leads up onto and old tram line that once led down to the old shale mines. The shale rock was then brought back up the tram line to the Retort Plant above the now Warrawee Trail head where oil was extracted from the rock. This trail leads to the northern fire road where and can be used as an alternative link to the southern trails.
