Second phase of the Trans Canada Trail. Very well-built, with a lot of machine work and small wooden bridges. The trail is mellow, alternating between single and double track. There are a couple of steeper switchbacks, but all are rideable by an intermediate biker. There are no red-line climbs, just undulating ups and downs. It's quite the expedition, alternating between open cutblocks with stunning views to deep, dark cedar forests. There is a section after South Castle, heading away from town, where it switches to double track (no vehicles, at least not normally) - just keep any eye out on your left for a very obvious trail entrance heading up. The section between 48 Hours and the Three Kings shuttle road is currently adventure biking only - muddy, some bushwhacking etc. In 2017 this is going to everyone's favourite new trail.
