Tres Hombres Details
Tres Hombres is a freeride downhill trail with multiple large gap jumps and technical steep sections following a ridge down into Derby Canyon. All the jumps are optional with go arounds except for one 7 foot cliff drop which has a walk around / climb down. This trail is one of the best freeride downhill trails in the state and can be shuttled. Usually we bring two cars and park one at the bottom and drive all people and bikes to the top. Then use the first car to head to the top and pick up the other car. This trail is totally possible with an XC bike and the trail is smooth packed dirt on almost the entire trail. There is only few rocky steep sections. If you are looking for something a little more tame check out Xanadu, we usually use it as a warm up trail.
From Leavenworth: Drive 3.1 Miles east on US2 and turn left on Main Street at Peshastin.(see below)
From the East: Drive US2 East from Wenatchee 0.9 Miles past Blewett Pass(US 97) and turn right on Main Street at Peshastin .
From Peshastin continue through town on Main Street and turn right on Derby Road where Main Street takes a hard left. Follow Derby Road for 0.8 miles and turn left on Derby Canyon Road. At 2.4 miles you will reach a split in the road, continue straight(left) onto National Forrest Development Road 7401.
If you want to park at the bottom of the trail and ride the road to the top. Park in the parking lot just past this intersection on your left.
From here continue north on National Forrest Development Road 7401 for 3.1 Miles to a split in the road. Turn right and continue on National Forrest Development Road 7401 for another 1.2 miles where you will find a dirt road that runs right. Travel out this road 0.4 miles where you will find Tres on your right. This is not signed but you should see the trail.
