Difficult variation of the trail called Trincerone. It has exposed sections with slippery ground, there are 3 sections where you have to push the bike for a few meters. In descent, pay attention to the stairs where some steps are high and present dangerous support poles for tires and cyclist in case of fall. The trail rejoins the classic Trincerone trail. This path allows you to pass very close to the fortress of Volterraio, being able to visit it (on foot) leaving the bikes to the chapel of San Leonardo (not kept). Very nice trail for lovers of difficult technicians, not recommended for non-experts. Beautiful viewpoint.

Today we talk about the difficult variant of the Trincerone ????. A path to travel only downhill, is very challenging due to the exposed stretches and slippery terrain due to the small rocks that collapse from the mountain. There are several stretches of stairway to be followed with caution because some are a little higher than average, moreover we must pay attention to some iron posts that can be dangerous for the tires and especially in case of fall. In at least 3 points you have to go down and push for a few meters. Why do it? Because it is the path that passes very close to the fortress of Volterraio, you can leave your bikes (unattended) in the equipped pitch at the point where the stairs that go up to the castle cross, to visit the chapel of San Leonardo a few meters away ... or even walk to the castle. Because it's a very technical, difficult descent ... like the purists and lovers of old style. It can be joined to the first part of the Trincerone trail, and then resumed after the staircase. Alternatively, you can always choose the complete Trincerone line. In the photos you can see the opening times of the castle for those interested.
