  • Global Ranking

A short jump trail fit for beginners to intermediate riders, there are 5 main jumps total with a few alternate lines, as well as a few decent berms. There has been a toy monster truck at the base of the first jump for quite some time now, which is where the name comes from.
If you come to the trail, feel free to try and improve/create features but don't change the flow of the trail (ex. don't destroy one feature to create another, just place your feature elsewhere.)

Access Info

Go along 31st to camosun, look for the nearest access (not main access there should be one right by 31st), follow the trail it puts you on and turn right, then go right on St. Georges Trail until you see a access on your right. May take a couple of tries to find.

Disclaimer

Watch out for park rangers, they get mad if they see you riding/working on it.

Trail is perfectly ridable, but there is a good chance that somebody will destroy it again so try and be subtle about riding it.

All the jumps have been taken down, no point in fixing them up since they will just be torn down again.

Hey, im trying to submit a gps map of where it is but just try and enter from 31st and camosun, there should be a pretty noticeable entry, just follow that i built a mound of dirt so that you can go over a fallen tree, then once you hit the main gravel trail just turn right and look on your right for a trail, it will be the first one on your right. If you are asking about a more general where is this, it is in Pacific Spirit Park.

Just an update on the trail, if you manage to find the short trail listed (im calling it the jump trail) then finish the trail and turn left and look on your right for a fallen log blocking a trail. There should be a second log after the first one, you can ride over them or carry your bike and after those 2 logs the entire trail is rideable. I call this second trail the technical trail as it is much more technical. There is actually a small network of trails in this area, but this is the only one that is currently rideable. I intend to do some work on the other ones to make them work as well and maybe we'll have 3-4 trails by then!

Update on the trail, the jump section isnt great right now the main jump is basically gone, i may rebuild it but its more likely that i work on the lower section of the trail since that part is significantly better.

Loving your work I'm going to put some love into the trail now to. Keep both entrances hidden or we won't have these trails foruch longer.

Sweet, im intending to do work on it now that im back in van and i also got a cheap shovel im going to hide there. Not sure how well you know the trail but on the second section (the good long part) it'll be to the left of that first hump sort of thing that has a stump on the left and it ends in a short steep decent (its right near the start of the trail)
The shovel is all metal and pretty short, i might add more tools there if all goes well.

Makes sense I know where that is I built a log ride off the rock towards the second half of the trail. Planning on doing somthing about the trees down towards the end

Ok, so there is now a shovel hidden in the trail, if you go from the top of the trail part (not jump line) and get just past the two ditches, there is a clearing and going along the trail there is a small drop that has roots on the side, just turn left there and you will see what looks like a jump (not doable, youll see why) so walk ontop of that and you will see 2 large holes, the shovel is hidden in one of those. Also, if you continue along the trail past the jump, there is a trail that is currently unusable but if you want to do any work on it (most clearing logs) that would be great. Please put the shovel back IN THE SAME PLACE and hide it properly, quite a few people walk their dogs through that section.

ok sounds good. ya the log ride is a once every 5 tries kinda deal. What do you think about doing about the logs down further down the trail.

Hey, whoever used/took the hidden shovel if you could please put it back that would be greatly appreciated as it is very difficult to get tools down there, especially a shovel. Seems pretty unreasonable to hurt many peoples future enjoyment of the trail as i intend to make another trail with that shovel, doesnt seem worth it to lose that because you wanted a $4 shovel.

I was there yesterday and I couldn't find your shovel. I did see a saw there tho. Well done clearing the trees. the jump line is running really well right now.

Hey, just an update on the trail, somebody build a huge jump at the beginning of the jump trail and it rides great, they also improved the second jump and i added a landing to it. These jumps are perfect as of now, please do not try and modify them, if you want to add more to the trail go further down since right now there are only jumps at the top part so its pointless to go to the bottom. You don't necessarily have to build a jump, any feature would be great.

Sadly, somebody (most likely the park rangers) took down all the jumps, i dont see any point in fixing it back up since they will just tear it back down.

Yeah ive already talked to one of them, they say "it damages the environment" even though everything we ride on is already dead... I think if we just sit and wait for them to forget about it, but they may know this post so its probably best to just leave it alone, id prefer to not be fined.

Went today, ran into some kids who fixed it up and its actually running pretty good, theres a fresh berm, and the first jump and rock drop are prime, and the next two jumps are alright. The last two little booters aren't much though.

Yeah, i added a large landing to the first jump, runs smooth you just have to go as fast as possible on the approach to clear the gap. Right on the edge of the jump, there was a toy monster truck that has been there for a while and i put it in the middle of the gap, going to be renaming this trail "truck gap trail"
