Local riders put a lot of effort into scratching in single track into the once over-grown abandoned park. The singletrack hugs the creek, passes under three bridges and returns to access road in spots. The trail skirts two city golf courses and eventually the city water treatment plant. The end of the trail features a mailbox nailed to a tree and a bell. Ring the bell, and sign your name in the 'riders log' (contained inside the mailbox). Watch out for equestrians.

This is a fun little ride in the middle of Modesto! They’ve cleaned all the riffraff up! The dirt still a little bit soft, but the trails are lotta fun. Met Chris today whos beenworking on the trail for the past five years .

Can we come up with some better names for these trails? For all the hard work the folks put into it and cleaning it up it seems degrading.

I would tend to agree with you dhtahoe, but last night I rode it and got chased by dogs three separate times- two pit bulls and then a chihuahua (luckily only the chihuahua caught meSmile ). Another dog came at me, but didn't chase. I also saw a guy squatted taking a dump right next to the trail. I love what they've done down there, but the truth is, it's sketchy as F down there.
