This trail is probably the most adventurous you can spend your time in Heuingberg, bar bundu bashing off trail. The trail surface is mainly gravel, but there are numerous rocky sections. The trail is bi-directional and has steep scrambling sections as you descent into the kloof. Obstacles include a wide rockface ledge, a short ladder, as well as a few places one has to crawl on all fours where trees have blocked the path. The path is quite overgrown, and trail runners will have difficulty to achieve more than a brisk walk. The trail is suitable for intermediate trailrunners and hikers.

Access Info

Access to this trail is from the backside of the Red Route in the north, or from the Dog Ears trail in the south.

Disclaimer

This trail will require you to crawl on all fours where some treeblocks have not been cleared completely.
