This is not a part of the Black Hills Regional Park system (it is not on their trail map, which I have included a link to). The Field Crest Trail is actually on the east side of the park, so I renamed this to "unnamed trail". It is confusing when you are riding there as it is not marked well and seems like it is a park trail. However, it is an unmaintained path with many large trees down and eroding along stream beds, which can be dangerous for bikers; it goes along a utility line of some sort, which is not park of the park's trail system as their trails are very well-maintained. It is possible for people to bike this who are experienced with log overs, but they will likely have to dismount for the drop off at the stream crossing at the north end of this path.

Access Info

You access this from the south at the Cabin John Trail trailhead on Black Hills Rd. Heading north on Cabin Branch Trail, you will cross a bridge. Going left will take you on this unmarked, unmaintained trail. Going right will keep you on the very well-maintained, beginner-level Cabin John Trail. You can also access it on the north end of the park via the Hamilton Trail (also a very well-maintained, beginner-level trail).

Disclaimer

This trail is not park of the Black Hills Regional Park trail system; it is unmaintained and not for beginners, unlike the wonderful trails in the park trail system.

This is actually not a park trail. It's unnamed and unmaintained. The Field Crest Spur is on the other side of the park.

You can mtb on it, not sure why it's giving this message.
