The upper section of the Angora Ridge Trail starts on the east side of Angora Lake Road and travels south 50ft or less below the paved road. It crosses the road after 0.5 miles and continues on to the Angora Lakes parking lot.
This narrow trail has no sustained climbing and great views of Lake Valley to the east. However, the trail navigates around, over, or below many boulders and other potential obstructions which may challenge beginning mountain bikers.
This section of the Angora Ridge Trail can be accessed on the north end about 400 ft before the fire lookout. From the south end it leaves from the east edge of the Angora Lakes parking lot.
Angora Lake Road is closed in the winter
