Completed by Carson Valley Trails Association in 2018, this trail extends the Clear Creek Trail all the way to Spooner Summit, and continues the same style of flowy goodness as the lower section of the trail. It is rated moderate due to elevation change, but there is nothing technically demanding about the trail--in fact it is a great place for beginning and intermediate riders to build their skills and stamina. The trail rides great both up and downhill, with an average 5% grade and a well built/sustainable trail base. The trail works great as a choose-your-distance out and back, but could also be incorporated into day-long epic loops. Due to it's proximity to the highway, it is very shuttle-friendly as well. For those downhill-only riders, you won't need downhill/enduro rigs, body armor, or full face helmets. In fact, whatever suspension you bring to the trail will go mostly unused. This trail has a soft dirt/sand mix that is susceptible to dust in summer and ruts/braking bumps. Please brake early, avoid skidding, and do your part to keep this trail in prime shape

still drifts over the trail near the very top, which can be hiked across.

Still have snow drifts at 7,000 foot. Another warm week and they should be gone.

This trail was built by amateurs. There is no flow, no rhythm, and no fun. People need to think before wasting their time building substandard trails on public land. This is a great mountain in our backyard that should have a great trail. Now the trail will never be any better, never be rebuilt. It is too close to trees and in places too steep. People skid this pos because it was improperly built. Build trails correctly and there is no need to skid. This is the worst trail anywhere.

There are a couple of fallen trees/logs blocking the trail! The trail gets a little icy towards The Knob, as well! Stay safe, friends♡
