Lower portion is a an old double track logging road. The north/south ridge is full of delicious rocks. Preferred direction is north to south in the downhill direction. In the climbing direction the rock gardens are challenging but doable.

Yeah. The turn off is not well marked (small yellow private property sign) and easy to go all the way down that logging road. It's a 20 minute bike hike up a steep hill. Dont ask me how I know.

Where the trail switches back at its southern most point there's an old logging road that continues south. If you miss the trail turn and take that road it goes down hill and then ends at a rocky overlook. Good luck getting back up the hill though to return to the trail (or bushwacked down all the way to Mountaindale Rd)
