Being simple minded we usually call this the upper road or 550, even though technical only about the lower half is FS 550. It changes numbers just past where Kern's Turns crosses it and then it changes again past the gate, but no one is ever going to remember those 5 number road. I saw it called Lake Como Rd on some maps although I'm not sure why.

Anyway it uses to be the main way up until Como Ridge (Kern's Turns) was built and still well used in the winter when it is groomed. If you really feel a need to shuttle Shannon Ridge, this is the road for you.
