This trail rides well both directions, fairly flat. Great for XC and Cyclocross and all mountain bikes. This trail links with several others, you can make it short or long. Depending which direction you are going you can either start or end at Shasta Dam.

This is a super mellow trail that is nearly flat, except the dam end, which is an easy switchback grade. The trail used to be a water flume, so it’s real consistent in grade. The majority of the ride by the dam is in shade, which is nice.

I think the elevation numbers for this trail are wrong. At almost 1800' in under 9 miles it would be a Cat 2 climb, which definitely doesn't feel "fairly flat". Thinking about riding up there this fall with a kid, but if those numbers are correct it is not kid friendly.
