This is the upper portion of the Woodtick Creek Trail which is a non-motorized trail.. Any ride would be an adventure. This portion of trail has not been maintained in many years and following it may be difficult in areas, especially where it drops off the ridge down into the creek through the sagebrush. It appears to switchback down. Portions of the trail have been logged through or have had fireline built so may be difficult to locate. Fortunately the Salt fire avoided most of this area. This trail historically provided access to the Swan Peak Lookout Crowsnest for fire detection. Swan Peak is just east of the eastern trailhead. There is an old trail up to the crowsnest site on top of the peak but that portion of the trail has burned over. With a little trail maintenance this trail could again be quite rideable and provide a great 7 mile singletrack ride down to Panther Creek via the Woodtick Creek Trail.

Walked the upper mile in late June 2019. Many down trees across trail.
