The Vetter Mountain Road leads from the Charlton Loop Road to the summit of Vetter Mountain and the Vetter Lookout. The first part is paved, then dirt/gravel past a locked gate. There is a restroom near the summit, at the start of the Vetter Mountain Trail. The Silver Moccasin Trail crosses this road just west of the first picnic area. The grade is easy to moderate, but there is little shade. The road follows a ridge top for much of it's length, so the views are generous, especially to the south.

This road is closed to motor vehicles, but is sometimes used by service vehicles. Keep alert, especially when descending.
