Whip Snake is a new trail (2020) designed by Northside Trail Care Alliance in conjunction with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service. Trailworx were contracted to build the top section whilst the lower sections were hand built by Northside Trail Care Alliance volunteers.
This was designed in the spirit of the local area with a bit of everything and aims to challenge riders with some more advanced features compared to its surrounding trails.
This trail is rated as a Black Diamond when ridden at speed, however all features have a b-line or are roll-able at a slower speed (blue at slow speed).
The trail starts as a climb with some intermediately difficult log-overs and switchbacks. Once at the summit the trail turns and has a downhill gradient for the remainder. The top section features jumps and berms in different styles requiring a wide range of skills whilst the lower section is hand cut with some loose and/or off camber sections, braking bumps, g-outs, rock gardens and more. This trail has many many features to master in order to ride it smoothly at pace.
