Best described as a triple whammy!!! In short, it's an easy, increasingly hard, and largely unrideable trail. From the trailhead it's mostly an easy, winding trail that looks initially promising...for a very short mile (it's a tease and whammy #1). Then comes the hard sandy wash for the next very long mile entering into the dry "falls" section of WB Canyon (enduring even for a plus tire biker: whammy #2). Now mtbers are confronted with a decision: turn back for a short up-and-back or forge forward and head up the canyon for the next mile or so for a tough, tough hike-a-bike from hell! (Whammy #3).Overall, it's an extreme connector to the upper WB for an intermediate/advanced and very rideable trail that connects to awesome ridgeline singletrack called "Ridgeline Loop"! Most mtbers would agree to enter into the "Ridgeline Loop" from the much more rideable east side of TMP. On the plus side, there is an actual historic site at the top of this section with a bench seat at the overlook where the spring forms and early settlers dug a well, according to the kiosk! Lastly, cottonwoods provide rare opportunities for shade and rehydration stop.

I initially hiked this trail the week prior and noted to myself that I'm glad I didn't bring my bike for the extreme HAB. Ironically, I returned from riding the awesome "Ridgeline Loop" and descended this puppy with my bike mostly on my shoulder. Was thankful I didn't have to take the super extreme Alamo Spring Spur/connector the way I initially ascended the loop. Was just happy to make it down the canyon with minimal scuffs and scrapes to me and my rig. The previous scouting of WB gave me knowledge toward taking a slightly safer descent. Alamo Spring Spur was just plain dangerous towing a cumbersome bicycle and untenable alternative route (IMHO).
