York with a Fork Details
Fun "old school" singletrack along a ridge then down its face with lots of tight turns and technical rock features. Partially logged in 2015 and rerouted and rebuilt in 2016. Unfortunately the bottom section will be logged in fall 2016.
The most direct route to the trail is climbing the York Creek Road past the York Creek Staging Area-JP48, across the yellow steel bridge at JP46, then 1.1 km to JP45. Turn left at JP45 and follow an old mine road/logging road for a further 1.7 km to the start of the singletrack, which begins with a sharp left turn off the road.
Note:JP45 to JP48 refer to designated junction points on the Castle Special Management Area map and to small orange signs on the OHV trails. See the land manager website http://esrd.alberta.ca/recreation-public-use/recreation-on-public-land/public-land-use-zones/castle-area-pluz.aspx
