This classic Wellington-style two-way singletrack starts/ends at the summit and the top of Varley's.

As a downhill, it's fast and narrow with rough and rocky sections combined with smoother flowy sections. As a climb it's a steady with a few pinch climbs to challenge your fitness and technique.

This track was built mostly by the late Zac (Ian Pearson) with help from the Makara Peak Supporters in 2000. in 2017 a new section of downhill trail that bypasses the 4WD track was built by the Kennett Brothers and funded by Zac's Memorial Fund.
