Description:
Fun flowy switch backs with some opportunities to get air*. The lower section of the trail is well established and hard packed. Some work is being done at the top with a mini excavator. Either reshaping or cutting an alternate route. This upper section is predictably loose, but completely ridable. I needed to hop back over to the established trail where the work ended.
The city has designated the area as the "Prospector View Park and Trailhead." I don't know how we go about it, but it may be worth changing the name to that instead of "New Santaquin Downhill."
*Although this is a great downhill track, the city has made it explicit that the trail is intended for mtbs (including pedal assist e-bikes), pedestrians, and equestrians in both directions. This may make rowdy downhill runs unsafe and infeasible.
