Description:
From the Panther HS trailhead, there is a newly brushed corridor around the 2023 washout which will get you to a shallow stream crossing and the main trail and Panther HS.

Further down, there is a step across 30’ below the old junction to the switchback climb. You can cross the creek there to get to the Lookout hikeAbike or downstream at the first pool like in the “olden days”.

Deadfall cleared up to 5800’ on the springs side and 5400’ on the gulch side. One tree remains and is located on the descent on the open ridge above the drop to the chutes, it is easy to get around.

There is a post-fire patch of Rush Skeletonweed @5400’ above the chutes. NFTA pulled some. More needs pulled and the patch will need to be monitored. Please help us w/ this endeavor. Rush Skeletonweed is very nasty and aggressive. Educate yourself about other weeds on the Noxious list and contribute in their control.
