Description:
Started fixing this trail up today, added some dirt in some eroded spots just above the bridge and cleared lots of debris in the same area. The rest of the trail just needs a good cleaning but I will also have to add lots of dirt in a couple of spots to make it safer/more fun. Il leave the trail closed for the time being and please don't ride on the fresh dirt we put

Thanks for taking it on! Unsure if you've armoured under where you've put dirt? If you're new to maintaining then you get to experience the joys of hours of finding big rock, puzzle piecing it together, burying your effort, ever seeing it for years and have no one know it's there! This helps the trouble spots from blowing out again or eroding away. It'll be a good spot for you to figure out dirt work and drainage to get water off the trail, thanks again for getting out!

The picture with the golden brown dirt is the part I worked on the most today and I put quite a few rocks underneath the dirt, it might hold up decently, the rest was mainly done by my friend and I don't think he armored it as well. The higher up the trail we go there's lots of rock to work with however so It will only get better. Il also get more experience. At least my "practice" is only a rarely ridden trail

hopefully progress will go faster as me and my friends improve at trail building, but at least nobody rides this trail so I don't think anyone will be mad that its closed

You have to use Cedar. Most trail builders find fallen trees and split logs into planks by hand.

Absolutely! A great place to learn, develop and hone your skills.

also if I may ask, what's the best way to get planks for building? The bridge on the trail is really sketchy and I will definitely have to rebuild it but I'm not sure of the best way to get the resources (specifically planks) for it.
