Description:
I'm not a fan of "paving" trails (i.e. compacted base rock & crushed gravel), but in this case it's kinda welcome. The previous condition of this portion of the climb up Ed Willson Trail was a mile of deep rain ruts, cattle craters and either sticky mud or bowling-ball sized dirt clods. It's really just an access/fire road anyway...nothing to get excited about. Now it's an easy climb to get to the downhill bit. Yay.
