May 18, 2026 Pinyon to Palm Access Trail Report

The first part of this road from St Pierre was bladed into a wider road for access during the fire a couple years ago. A fence across the start of the road was recently installed with branches half-heartedly spread across it for the first 150ft. After that it is clear and it is easy to lift a bike over the fence, which appears intended to keep motor vehicles out but not hikers and bikers. The rest of the route did burn but the tread is unaffected. Where the route meets Hwy 74 there is a gate with Road closed sign and boulders to block access.
