The North Sussex Section of the Roughstuff fellowship was formed in late October 2017 to provide rides in the North Sussex and Southern Surrey local to the area of Crawley, Horsham, Horley and Redhill, Our rides mainly cover a distance of 25 to 35 miles, at an average speed of 8mph. During most of the year we ride a mix of quiet small backroads, and off-road using ridable cart roads, bridleways and byways and trails of varying difficulty with a good distance being off-road whilst a good percentage of the rides are reasonable flat the Wealden area does have some heart pumping, short, sharp hills to add interest to the ride. After heavy rain when the Wealden Clay becomes a unridable sticky mess, during those times our rides stay mainly to quiet backroads.and gravel tracks.
