Welcome to Hartland Winter Trails – a volunteer-run network of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails in Hartland, Vermont, USA. The trails were begun in the mid 1970s as a single, short loop, and the network has grown to about twenty-five kilometers of trails on varied terrain. The trails are built and maintained by a small, but dedicated group of community volunteers. All trails are located on the private property of more than thirty landowners. We are grateful for their very generous support; please show your appreciation by being respectful of their land.
The trails are groomed for classical skiing and snowshoeing. No other forms of travel – including on foot – is allowed. Dogs are allowed on the trails, but please – for the safety and pleasure of the wildlife and other users – keep fido under your control at all times. Use a leash if necessary. The trails are open to all cross-country skiers and snowshoers at no charge.
