Krone Vintage-Only Méthode Cap Classique is handcrafted in the traditional method on the 300-year-old Twee Jonge Gezellen wine estate in Tulbagh. Our MCCs celebrate a commitment to the vintage and the character of each harvest.
Our 300-year-old farm has been restored to reflect its heritage and contemporary renaissance and is open to the public for tastings as well as cellar and gallery tours.
Méthode Cap Classique (MCC) is the South African term used to describe sparkling wines made by the classic French Méthode Champenoise. Méthode Champenoise and Méthode Cap Classique both refer to sparkling wines that undergo their 2nd fermentation in the bottle. Under an agreement with France, South Africa does not use the term ‘champagne’ which, correctly, is a geographic appellation describing the sparkling wines from the Champagne area of France.
