If you make an online purchase with Sierra Bicycle Supply, submit your payment and then receive an order number, DON'T ASSUME SIERRA BICYCLE SUPPLY WILL HONOR THE RESULTS OF YOUR ORDER.
I purchased a bike a couple of days ago for a great price. Once I received conformation that my payment went through, and an email arrived stating, "Thank you for your purchase!
We're getting your order ready to be shipped", I was super thrilled about my purchase. I immediately continued shopping online for new grips, pedals, dropper post lever and handlebars to give my new bike some personality.
Well, after 2 days went by, I began to wonder why I hadn't received any further emails about the bike's shipping status. So, I sent Sierra Bicycle Supply an email for an update.
To my surprise, and profound disappointment, the response I received said, "Apologies. we sold out. I'll cancel your order now. Sorry about the bad news."
That was it. No explanation for why this purchase was bungled. No explanation for why they would allow money to leave my bank account, into theirs, if there was no bike available. "Yeah, sorry. Shit happens" was how they landed this disastrous news. You would think this bungled transaction might compel Sierra Bicycle Supply to find a resolution, somehow with Specialized, to mitigate their clumsy transactions. Nope. Nothing.
I'm sure they are a great bike supplier on other accounts, but be SUPER CAUTIOUS when purchasing an online bike from Sierra Bicycle Supply, you may end up holding a box of upgraded bike parts that will need returning, adding sharp salt crystals to your wounded experience.

purchased from them 3 times and no issues. ordered frame Sworks epic WC arrived in 5 days, purchased Roval wheelset arrived in a week. after that ordered Sram XX SL group set and they did not have it in stock so was notified that extra time was needed for my order and then arrived 2 weeks later. great shop no issues at all, but if you are concern send and email to verify stock since they answer fast. .
