Fort Ord National Monument is administered and maintained by the Bureau of Land Management. It hosts 86 miles of multi-use trails through sensitive plant and wildlife habitat on a portion of the former Fort Ord in Monterey County, California. Fort Ord's trails provide opportunities for hiking, biking and horseback riding through rolling hills, pockets of chaparral, and oak woodlands and is home toa huge diversity of plant life and animals in habitats that include streamside corridors, grasslands, maritime chaparral, oak woodlands and seasonal pools.
