Cable Bay Adventure Park has over 400Ha of private, pristine native forest, with incredible trails and scenery and only a short 15 minute drive from Nelson CBD. There is also a licensed café at the base area and plenty of parking.
With an ever expanding trail network it is one of the go to destinations at the top of the South Island of NZ.
Built and maintained by the legends on the Cable Bay Trail crew, the park has a good selection of trails from intermediate to expert levels as well as a variety of farm roads and scenic locations suitable for more entry level riders.
Access to the trails is free of charge.
There is an onsite bookable shuttle service and is also accessed by all the local Nelson shuttle providers.
A small rental fleet of both E-MTB's and MTB's is available at the base.
Featuring predominately native forest there is a variety of trail styles, generally the trails are tighter, with minimal impact and clearing on the native vegetation, with plenty of rocks and roots. Typical nelson steep terrain which also drains amazing well and rides well in the wet.
The Adventure park is also home to one of the world’s longest zipline experiences, The Skywire Experience. An amazing scenic ride which takes you on an aerial journey above the treetops, reaching speeds of up to 100kmph, scenic guided Quad Bike tours and paintball. Young children love our Petting Zoo and Animal Feeding. We have Alpacas, Highland cows, Valois sheep, and eels.
Onsite is our licensed Base Café, open daily with delicious cabinet food, a sit-down menu and a great range of local beverages.
