Bike Geraldine is a volunteer-led incorporated society dedicated to developing, maintaining and promoting Geraldine's growing network of cycling and shared-use trails in Geraldine, Canterbury, New Zealand. Formed in 2016 and incorporated in 2017, the organisation brings together local riders, community groups and public agencies with the shared vision of making Geraldine a premier cycling destination while creating trails that are enjoyed by riders, walkers, runners and families alike.
Working in partnership with the Geraldine Lions Club, Timaru District Council, Environment Canterbury and numerous local volunteers, Bike Geraldine cares for more than 30 km of shared-use trails along the Orari River and surrounding reserves. The association is also leading the development of the professionally built mountain bike park at Riddell's Reserve, expanding Geraldine's reputation as one of South Canterbury's emerging riding destinations.
Bike Geraldine is committed to building sustainable, accessible trails for riders of all ages and abilities while encouraging responsible trail use, environmental stewardship and strong community involvement. Through volunteer trail days, fundraising initiatives, advocacy and partnerships, the organisation continues to expand Geraldine's trail network and improve active recreation opportunities for both residents and visitors.
Visitors will find a welcoming cycling community, scenic riverside trails, progressive mountain bike facilities and easy access from the town centre, making Geraldine an ideal destination for everything from family rides and gravel adventures to purpose-built mountain biking. Bike Geraldine welcomes new members, volunteers and supporters who share a passion for creating outstanding trails and strengthening the local riding community.
