Overview
Lewis Memorial Acres Association is a nonprofit organization responsible for Lewis Park & Trails,a 40-acre community green space on the west side of Springfield, Illinois. Established following a 1984 land donation by Irene Lewis, the park was envisioned as a place for community recreation, relaxation and reflection in a natural setting. Its combination of open prairie, wooded terrain and winding singletrack trails provides opportunities for outdoor recreation close to the city.
The association oversees the private property and its ongoing development, helping preserve this local green space for the community. The trails support mountain biking, hiking and trail running, offering an accessible outdoor experience for people looking to enjoy nature and explore the area's interconnected trail network. Lewis Park & Trails also serves as a venue for community events that bring outdoor enthusiasts together and encourage appreciation of the park.
