We have traded for 30 years in 2015 , and sell 1000's of bikes each year to our Great customer base , who we bend over backwards to look after , we list 1000's of products on our web sites , these have no live data feed so we have to update , manually of each product , when we listed the lapierre bike it was stock with our supplier , when you ordered it it had sold out , we called our supplier who offered you 2 models up in the range for £400 more , this was a MEGA deal , which you chose not to accept , we do ask customers to confirm stock levels before orderind as stock moves so very quick when on clearance prices esp at 25% off , it is a very difficult task keeping on top or stock levels and we try all the time to do as such
I was looking for a small framed bike for my son who is only an inch or so below the heights given as a guide by nearly all manufacturers. Not wanting to by him a kids frame when he was this close to fitting on a full bike, and not having any local bike stores that stocked a small frame that I could sit him on (at least none worth bothering with), I emailed Dan at leisure wheels to see if the 14" felt six 80 would suit. His response was fast and helpful. Unfortunately I was not so fast in ordering the bike and one week later ordered without first checking stock. The bike had sold out however Dan offered similar and better spec bikes discounted, again being very helpful. 2 days later and the bike is here. My son hasn't sat on the bike yet, as it's not his birthday for another week. But it looks like Dan's advice was spot on and it will fit perfectly.
As with any bike store, unless your willing to pay the big chain premium it's always advisable to check stock before ordering. I don't know if this is true of leisure wheels but it definitely is of my local stores. Their websites list stocks that their suppliers tell them are available, not what they physically have in the store.
Phone or email and check before you order.
An excellent buying experience in my opinion. As I can not accept my son having a superior bike than mine, bookmarked and will hopefully be visiting leisure wheels again later this year to get me something nice!

Ordered a lapierre online today, paid & accepted the transaction only to be e-mailed to say 'sorry we don't have the bike, but you can pay another £400 for the next model up'
No - you've taken payment for the bike I've ordered.
"Well we haven't got one so we'll refund your money within 48hrs." Very helpful (not)
Looking online at other reviews this seems to be a habit of this store, taking people's money before they even know what bikes they can get.
Deceitful to say the least and trading standards informed!
