BC had some rough times in the past, but recently (last couple years) they've really improved. They focus on BMX, but have a lot of entry level mtb and road stuff, and some really nice recreational stuff too. Cameron, who runs the shop, is an honest guy and he will help you out any way he can.
Yeah, cameron is everything you want in the manager of your lbs.
