Surrey Off Road Cycling Enthusiasts is an IMBA affiliated club that has been working with the city of Surrey, to develop mountain bike facilities for over 10 years. In the past SORCE has hosted BC Cup XC races on the "Junk Yard Dog" XC loop at the South Surrey Bike Park, and continues to hold several XC toonie races in partnership with the Shed Bike Club every year. In North Surrey there is the Invergarry Bike Park built by Alpine bike parks, which is arguably one of the most progressive city bike parks in BC.

I have been a member of SORCE on and off since its founding. It is run by a great group of volunteers who work with the City of Surrey to advocate for resources to support off-road riding in the city. In recent years, locations such as Invergarry have been developed and the South Surrey Bike Park has been modernized and maintained. A partnership with the Shed Club (Delta Watershed) has been productive leading to multiple races per year at that park as well.
I have been the President and on the Board for SORCE over the last 5 years. We're a small club but have achieved some great things. South Surrey Bike Park set the standard for cooperation with a City in early 2000's and was presented a model of partnership at IMBA Conference. More recently, Invergarry Bike Park has set a new standard for quality of facility. We have ambitions to do more.
