Jeff and I are avid riders who became USFS volunteers so we could work on the Luge and Santiago Truck trails.

This part of the Cleveland National Forest burned in late 2007, and I dedicated myself to saving the Luge and restoring both it and the Santiago trails. That restoration included 3 years of digging out from the fire, repairing extensive rain and flood damage, and rebuilding after large mud and rock slides. We also dug lots of drains to prevent rutting and built berms on most of the corners, and I'm thankful for having a lot of help from fellow mountain bikers during this time!

Jeff came on board in 2013 and he and his friends have been systematically improving the berms and doing most of the work on the Luge, while I have helped keep the STT open and rideable.

These two trails, along with the San Juan trail, are sometimes the only Orange County trails open and accessible during and immediately after rain storms, and also get used extensively for night rides in the winter. Our goal is to keep both trails open at all times and in the best conditions possible. The STT is 8 miles long, and the Luge is a mile (plus), and both are heavily used.

We include the mountain bike community in maintenance projects as much as possible, but would also greatly appreciate your financial support for tool purchases and rentals, gas money, etc. (all of which has been coming out of our own pockets).

Thank you for your support, and hope to see you on the trail!
