The Southwest Michigan Mountain Biking Association is a nonprofit mountain bike group that has been working at Fort Custer Recreational Area for 20 years. SWMMBA was founded in the spring of 1993 as a chapter of the Michigan Mountain Bike Association (MMBA) to develop trails and encourage mountain biking in Southwest Lower Michigan. As an organization, SWMMBA focuses on promoting proper trail development and maintenance, stewardship, advocacy, racing, group rides, and general mountain biking.Our group has volunteered thousands of trail maintenance hours and worked very hard to make the Fort Custer trail system what it is today. The trail system is rated in the top 50 of destinations for mountain biking in the United States.
