The Human Projectiles have been riding at Cudlee Creek Forest/Fox Creek on a weekly basis since 1991.
We have assisted with track development and maintenance on numerous occasions over the years and competed in Downhill, Enduro and Cross Country style events over the past 10 years at Cudlee Creek Forest/Fox Creek – Eagle MTB Park and Melrose.
As a group we have also travelled broadly riding in places throughout South Australia, Northern Territory, ACT, Victoria and New Zealand.
For many years the Human Projectiles were totally old school and predominantly rode the fire trails at high speeds with elbows out, passing each other in silly locations. Then we got fitter, the bikes got better and we learned to ride single track, particularly the Downhill tracks at Fox Creek. Over time we have transitioned to XC and Flow, while still being actively involved in recreational Downhill and Free-ride styles of riding.
We joined the Forestry SA’s “Friends of the Forest” and assisted where requested with maintenance on the Thomas Hill house and surrounds including , replacing the roof, performing some internal repairs, supplying domestic water (when the bore failed), some painting, ceiling repairs, replacing and repairing gutters, proving furniture (table) and kitchen appliances (dish washer) and general plumbing.
In recent years we worked with IMBA Australia and assisted with donations, volunteering and supplying resources and equipment to assist with the building and maintenance of the CORE (Cudlee Off road Experience) Loop which entails the “Green Smoothie” Descent and “Middle Earth”Ascent.
After travelling and riding a number of areas in the eastern states and New Zealand and looking at what has evolved for Mountain biking over the past 15-20 years we decided to become a formalised group of MTB riders with the aim of trying to assist others to develop what we consider to be one of the best MTBing destinations in Australia.
We became an Incorporated Association on the 29th of April 2014

As an ex-South Aussie I always enjoy riding at Foxy and Eagle whenever I get back there for holidays. I first rode at Foxy in the mid-90's and am really impressed (and thankful) when I get the opportunity to ride in such beautiful places with well-planned trail networks. Appreciate your efforts!!! Cheers.
