The Bike: ticket to adventure or passport to pain?

Few people have ridden and carried their bikes through as many of the world’s wildest places as professional photographer Dan Milner.

In this absorbing slideshow, Milner talks about the places his passion for mountain biking has taken him, and the challenges he’s had to overcome to document such endeavours to see the often hard-won outcomes published in titles such as Freehub, Bikemag, Beta, Mountain Flyer, Pinkbike and Outside Online.

Illustrated by 20+ years of visually stunning photography, Milner highlights how the humble bike has proven to be the perfect tool for adventure —cutting through barriers of language, culture and politics to open up authentic experiences with the inhabitants of some of the World’s most remote and least accessible places.

Punctuated with ‘Brit wit’ this talk highlights not only the rewards that await the adventurous rider, but the price that is often to be paid along the way.
