Experience the Keweenaw is all about having fun on and off the trails, by bike, foot, or paddle. Best of all, you get to ride the Keweenaw's amazing trails, from Söké all the way to Copper Harbor and everywhere in between. Our lead organizer, the Portage Health Foundation, is spearheading this exciting weekend with fun, family-friendly events across the Copper Country.
Join us this Memorial Day weekend for three days of non-stop outdoor recreation. Starting on Friday May 24th, we'll take a guided ride (and hike) through the caverns at Adventure Mine, checking out the bats and old mine workings along the way. On Saturday May 25th, we'll wake up bright and early with a ride, trail run, and mini-clinics at the Michigan Tech Trails. Bring the whole family because there will be kids rides! Later in the afternoon we'll head over to Churning Rapids and explore these backcountry trails close to home. Finally, we'll wrap up our Saturday with a late-afternoon ride on the twisty, turny, and all-ages Swedetown Trails. If you run out of energy on this final ride of the day, don't worry, we'll have a party at the Agassiz Park afterwards to recharge your tired legs!
On Sunday, May 26th, the riding action is all in Copper Harbor. The first Lake Superior Gravity Series Enduro of 2019 starts at 10:00 AM, with group rides later in the afternoon for those not interested in racing. Keweenaw Adventure Company will be offering discount shuttles for riders in the later part of the day, so come on up and help us ring in another season of riding the burliest terrain around! Following our last day of riding, we'll gather up in the park for Taste of the Harbor, music, and the unveiling of our 2019 ArtBike posters.
All group rides are free, although a $25 donation to the trail system of your choice will get you a t-shirt for this year's event. Our mini-clinics at Michigan Tech are $10. The LSGS Enduro is $40 and after May 6th rises to $50. Help support our local trails by registering today!
