BMBA - Cameron Preserve - Trail Maintenance and Improvement Day
Trail Day Details:

BMBA sponsored Trail Maintenance Day Saturday July 25th 8:00-11:00 am at the Corey Road Trailhead (1150 Corey Rd. Malabar, FL 32950 - https://www.trailforks.com/poi/51603/).

Now that we're finally getting some rain the trails could use an overall trim to get rid of the face slappers and pedal/toe catchers. Recommended items to bring are hat, sunglasses, gloves, hand trimming tools (clippers, pruners, loppers, etc.), and plenty of water The Town of Malabar Trails and Greenways Committee will have water there as well. There will be a sign in sheet on the picnic table just inside the trail entrance, please make sure to sign in.

We have several trimming crews that are authorized to use electric powered trimmers and we could really use some "sweepers" to follow behind them and clear the trails as they go. This is harder work than it sounds like and allowing our trimmers to keep pushing forward and not having to go back and clear will allow us to get a lot accomplished.

This is also a chance to grab a BMBA "No Dig No Ride" sticker. We only give these out in person on workdays and limit is one per worker so if you need another one for the second bike you'll just have to come out for another workday! lol

In all seriousness this is dirty, hot, and hard work but the satisfaction you will get from being a part of what goes in to having these wonderful trails is very fulfilling. You'll likely meet some folks you already know and may very well meet a new friend!

Thanks to all that pitched in this weekend! We had a relatively small work crew but man did we accomplish a LOT! Special thanks to our sweepers! Me and the trail crew got together afterwards and the general consensus was that we were surprised how much we accomplished, we're not used to this luxury, lol. Jimmy/Josh, you and your crew knocked it outta the park. To Rorie, Art, Eric, Keith, and one yet to be named sweeper that came out to lend a hand.. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!

Not get out there and ride! Trails are trimmed and rain Sunday evening so the time is now!
