Unlike some other strictly curated trail sites, Trailforks is more of an open wiki type setup. While we encourage filling out as much detail as you can when submitting trails, its not required. Anyone can make edits to trails after its been added, improving or adding to the info over time.

Our philosophy is we rather have some info, rather than none. Make the barrier to adding content low, to encourage users to contribute. If you just know the name of a trail and have a gps track, go ahead and submit the trail with just that basic info. At least this way other types of content like Pinkbike photos and videos can be matched to the trail. And the trail reports and check-in's features can start to be used for the trail.
