The Rocky Road area sits on a prominent knob northeast of Mount Ascension. The trails are mostly on City of Helena Open Lands and connect to the Mount Ascension network. Trails in this area are narrow with short sightlines. The trails are more challenging than on Mount Ascension, with tighter switchbacks and more rock outcrops. This is a popular area for local hikers and dog walkers.
