The Great MTB Traverse: L’Alpes-Provence

305 km / Ascent: +8,500 m / Descent: -10,160 m

Starting with a journey through alpine pastures at the gateway to the Mercantour National Park, the mountain biking route descends into the Ubaye Valley. It follows the Ubaye River all the way to Lake Serre-Ponçon.
After climbing one last alpine pass and discovering high-altitude lakes, the Alpes-Provence trail dives into the Blanche Valley.

Next comes the crossing of the largest geological reserve in Europe (the Haute-Provence National Geological Nature Reserve). Highlights include the mythical Terres Noires (Black Lands) in the Digne area, the Durance Valley with its numerous single tracks, and the Mountain of Lure (a summit in Haute-Provence) along with the picturesque region of Forcalquier.

Finally, the journey ends in Manosque after 300 km of pure bliss.
