Bymarka is a large park and nature reserve on the west side of the city of Trondheim. It has an area of 80 square kilometres (31 sq mi), with more than 200 kilometres (120 mi) of trails. Bymarka is very popular for hiking, running, biking, camping (and x-country skiing in the winter). All trails are multi-use and care and consideration when riding the trails on a bike must be taken to avoid access issues.
      NOTS Trail Guidance:

      - Be caring and polite when meeting hikers.
      - Always give way to people on foot
      - Limit your speed so that you are not a danger or inconvenience to others, in particular along trails that invite to high speed, or in section with poor oversight
      - Brake down to walking speed well before passing others on a narrow trail
      - Do not make new the trails, if you do not have the skills to overcome an obstacle, get off the bike.
      - Avoid riding particularly vulnerable trails after periods of heavy rainfall
      - Do not widen the trail by cycling around ponds or obstacles.
      - Carry the bike through marsh/very wet areas so that no deep tracks are formed
      - Do not lock the rear wheel on steep downhills.
      - Rider going uphill has the right of way when meeting others on a bike
