Parklands has over 30km of twisty singletrack that takes you through dense forest areas. Brace yourself for numerous stream crossings, rocky climbs, steep switchbacks, and flowing cross-tracks through lush green undergrowth and ferns. All the best trails are singletrack within the fire road systems. Through the trails have limited signage, the fire trails, walking tracks and horse-riding trails are well signposted and offer enough information to help you find your way back to the car.

There are a couple of singletrack loops that leave directly from the Radar Hill Rd carpark. Head hard left immediately after the horse-friendly gate and wind up and down narrow trails on forest-clad hillsides. Or head into Parklands from Atkinson Rd. Park your car at the trail head, at the end of Atkinson Road, then hoon down the steep fire road that will take you to a selection of steeper tighter singletrack loops.

The climb back to the car is guaranteed to finish off anyone who had not managed to ride themselves ragged out on the loops. Especially on the Radar Hill side, you'll encounter narrow bridges, log roll-overs and steep entries and exits into deep creek beds. The swooping descents and engaging rock-laden tracks are challenging and a lot of fun.

The turns can be tight, the trees loiter close to the edges of the track, and the track surface is either mud or loose and covered in leaf litter. There is a multitude of roots crossing tracks too. With track names like New Zealand, Shadowlands, Rock and Roll and Snaky Loop, you'll soon figure out what to expect.

Parklands is not for novice riders - tight turns and tree roots abound, and you'll need a full skill set to negotiate them successfully. The singletrack is littered with logs, rocks and dips, and winds through dense forest, so even experienced riders will need to concentrate on the track ahead.
